The Allan Labor Government is making Wellington Shire’s tiniest towns better places to live, work, stay and play, by investing in new community-building projects through the Tiny Towns Fund.
Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh today announced six projects within the Wellington Shire are being delivered through round 2 of the Fund.
The grants of between $5,000 and $50,000 will help local communities across Victoria flourish, and in many cases, support local workers during project development.
The Gippsland Vehicle Collection will receive $50,000 through the fund – which will contribute towards the replacement of the Collection’s roof.
The Maffra-Sale Motorcycle Club will also receive $50,000 for toilet block refurbishments, and the Dargo Bush Nursing Centre has been gifted $20,480 for an upgrade to the Dargo Community House’s facilities.
Other local investments include $16,375 to the Heyfield War Memorial Hall, for the installation of new aluminium windows, $18,400 to the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail through Heyfield, and $18,000 to the Yarram Scout Group for a child-safe rear fence.
The fund is a part of the Labor Government’s record $45 billion investment over the past decade in projects and programs that support regional and rural Victoria.
