The Allan Labor Government has delivered two new buildings for Rosebud Secondary College, giving students on the Peninsula more world-class facilities to learn in.
Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh today officially opened the new buildings – which include eight new classrooms, new practical activity spaces, staff areas, and bathrooms, following a commitment of over $10 million as part of the Victorian Budget 2020/21.
The opening comes ahead of Rosebud Secondary College marking its 70-year anniversary this month, and will benefit all of the school’s 900 students from years 7-12.
The design of the two new buildings was carried out by architects Co.Op, while builder Melbcon constructed the new rooms.
Mr McIntosh on Monday visited the school, touring the new buildings and speaking to students about the effects of climate change and coastal erosion.
The Allan Labor Government is also funding refurbishment of the school toilets, with an investment of $288,000 Victorian Budget 2023/24’s Minor Capital Works Fund. The toilets’ refurbishment is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
