The Allan Labor Government is delivering Sorrento Primary School students the first-class facilities they deserve, supporting better learning outcomes with upgrades and maintenance rolling out to schools across the state.

Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh today congratulated Sorrento Primary School, one of 58 successful schools that will share in $25 million for a range of small-scale refurbishments, such as bathroom, playground, and fencing repairs, through the 2024/25 round of the Labor Government’s Capital Works Fund.

Sorrento Primary will receive $499,928 to refurbish the school toilets, which will improve cleanliness and hygiene.

The Labor Government has invested $16.9 billion over the past 10 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,000 school upgrades, which is supporting more than 26,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.

Labor is getting on with the job of building new schools with 100 to open by 2026.

The Victorian School Building Authority will work with successful schools from early 2025 to deliver their projects.

All construction is set to be finished by the end of May 2026.
