Importantly, the better lit grounds will also mean more recreation opportunities for the wider community, who can head to their local reserve with friends and family well into the evening hours.
For growing and busy communities across the Mornington Peninsula, these upgrades will support people of all ages and abilities to pursue active and healthy lifestyles on a schedule that best suits them.
Since 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has provided Mornington Peninsula Shire Council with more than $32 million in funding towards 23 highly valued projects in its local area.
Through its 2023/24 Budget, the Victorian Government is investing another $10 million in the Growing Suburbs Fund to support the delivery of critical local infrastructure in Melbourne’s fastest-growing communities, as part of an $18.9 million investment to support suburbs across the city.
Mr McIntosh acknowledged Mornington Peninsula Shire Council for its commitment to the projects and financial contribution of more than $1.7 million.
